How Darren filled up his pipeline with leads

Insights, Not Hype

Read time: 2 minutes

Darren is a banging designer and one of my favourite people I’ve met through LinkedIn. He has a pretty decent following (~17K) and he launched one of the best LinkedIn creator courses.

He exploded last year as one of the first designers to successfully use Midjourney.

This year, however, things started lagging.

Organic reach is down. People are way harder to get.

He came to me, asking for help.

What I did to fill his pipeline

I ran an analysis of Darren’s performance and activity numbers.

For his audience, he was getting only about 22 comments per post on average. Something wasn’t working and it was clear from his empty pipeline.

However, I saw something even more interesting:

Darren had only 2 regular fans and 1 was his content strategist, the other was his marketing consultant.

Also, his own commenting was sporadic, erratic and non-existent on most days.

My first piece of advice was:

“Be very consistent with who you target”.

Darren’s ideal client (coaches) is very active on LinkedIn.

And as we know by now, the best way to reach active members on LinkedIn is through commenting.

Darren started actively looking for coaches and engaging with their content.

But when I say engaging, I mean he’d go and leave a long and super thoughtful comment. Not the standard “great post”.

He would dedicate about 1h a day to do that.

Within a week, his pipeline was full of new clients.

And he doesn’t do low-ticket.

Now, Darren has everything else in place: his profile is amazing, his expertise is solid, he has authority, and a clear offer. The only thing he was missing was visibility.

Engagement does that for you 😉

I’m an analyst who diagnoses LinkedIn performance issues.

And I have a tool that does that for FREE. Find it HERE.

I know many people are skeptical about the power of engagement. I hope I made you think about it.

Until next time,
